Problem Note 36267: Column names with single quotation marks might cause syntax errors in the Query Builder in SAS® Enterprise Guide®
Syntax errors might occur when a query includes a column name that contains an embedded single quotation mark and spaces. For example, the following column name would cause the syntax error:
The problem occurs because the query does not always parse the column names correctly, especially when the columns are placed at the beginning or the end of a line of code, resulting in a SAS syntax error.
To circumvent the problem, arrange the query or filter so that the incorrectly parsed column is moved to the middle of the line of code instead of at the beginning or the end.
